We will be fundraising during the Party in Ethereum and Bitcoin cryptocurrencies. All donations will be split 25% among the four reputable Puerto Rican charities linked HERE.

THE THEME / OBJECTIVE:
On Saturday night, we will lead a roaming Party adventure through the streets of San Juan to unite thousands of revelers in Ecstatic Public Celebration.
“Open-Source / Open Hearts” is the theme and the objective is to unite as many people as possible from the Crypto / Decentralization community with local Puerto Ricans.
This will be accomplished via a series of smaller Parties during “Rebuild Week” (commencing March 13th) and a climactic final Party on the 17th. We’re hoping these will serve as catalysts for community and conversation and exemplify what a Decentralized future might not only look, but FEEL like!
On the dance floor, it’s easy to approach each other with Pure Hearts and Positive Intentions. Together, we can enact a cooperative canvas for unity, understanding and the vibrant new civilization that will hopefully soon rise from the wreckage of Hurricane Maria.
We seek to create spaces free of politics, division and struggle. Sacred moments in space and time to be One people on One planet. From there, we can do anything!
We are a global collective of Party Revolutionaries who believe that “Capital-P Partying” is the key to uniting humanity and brokering world peace. Our Party Manifesto explains.
After the DDP has concluded, we plan to travel the island for a mini tour, bringing joy and laughter to as many as possible who are suffering in silence and still rebuilding 🙂
GARY’S BORDER DEBACLE:
Unfortunately, Gary (co-founder of the DDP and lead organizer of the event) was detained at the Canada/USA border and given a 5-year travel ban for seeking to host this Party, as it was considered “unauthorized work”, even though the intention was to crowdfund only enough to cover costs and donate all profits to hurricane relief efforts…
However!
At the 11th hour, Jacques Martiquet (a longtime DDP ally and founder of Party4Health) volunteered to travel solo to Puerto Rico with his trusty SOUNDBOKS to ensure the Party would still transpire!
He will be supported by Damien Nichols, our resident Strategic Philosopher, who flew in from California with all the boomboxes he could carry 🙂
And so!
We’re making the most of this opportunity to further Decentralize the DDP and although it’s going to be slightly scaled down, have every expectation that It will Still Be Amazing.

HOW A MOBILE (DECENTRALIZED) DANCE PARTY WORKS:
You carry a boombox and the DJ has an FM radio transmitter. All the boomboxes are tuned into the DJ’s master FM broadcast, resulting in a mobile, synchronized sound system!
This Open-Source Party roams the night, generating complete awesomeness, street by street and block by block, onto buses and subways, into public fountains and beyond. Together, we create an infectious epidemic of fun. A roaming Party adventure that lasts all night long!
Much like Open-Source software, a DDP is a peer-produced, collaborative undertaking. Everyone pools their talents and energies to create and refine an ever-evolving manifestation of their hearts’ desires.
And so!
This Party is all about creating and sharing as many unique and fun elements as possible- costumes, props, projectors, lights, sounds, smells, dance routines, etc. The theme is Open and the only requirement is to get as crazy and elaborate as possible!
ALL-AGES!
DDPs are hosted exclusively in public spaces and we take great pride in creating the most inclusive Parties possible. EVERYONE, of every AGE, BACKGROUND and STYLE is 100% welcome and will be accepted with open arms and high-fives.
People show up to DDPs with their kids and parents all the time. Homeless people join in wherever we go. Even the police often participate. It’s all good. The more diversity the better.
In a time when much of the world is polarized and divided, “Capital-P Partying” represents a rare Common Goal that can instantly unite everyone it encounters.
Music is the universal human language, dancing is the universal human movement, and Partying is the Universal Human Identity!
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Due to the border debacle, we’ve only been able to muster about 10 boomboxes (and one giant SOUNDBOKS speaker) thus far. Please source as many portable music players with FM radios as possible and bring them to the starting location to tune into our broadcast!

>>> Our plan is to host the main DDP on Saturday night and many smaller ones beforehand. We will be printing out giant cryptocurrency QR codes that will be affixed to Jacques’ Soundboks and handheld signs to allow people to donate to hurricane relief efforts during the Parties. We first experimented with this concept back in 2013 and it worked great!
